2017 f150 stereo upgrade4/9/2024 I needed to remove the under steering wheel dash panel to make the wiring easy.Ģ) Punch some quality Crutchfield 0/1 power wire through the driver footwell grommet to the battery (+) and route that along the left side sill to the rear of the truck.ģ) I put a power distribution block in back of the rear seats to power both amps.Ĥ) Main left/right/front/back RCAs ran to Kenwood amp and hooked up in bridged configuration as well as remote power turnon from PlugNPlay unit.ĥ) I tapped into the speaker wire harness coming out of the Sony amp mounted at the back wall of the cab. From there I ran a USB wire to program it, a remote turnon wire for the amps and 6 nice Crutchfield RCAs (set of 4 and set of 2) from that unit around the left of the dash and inside the trim piece along lower left center console and to the back of truck. I can easily upgrade from here if I desire, but to my ears it all sounds great as is. One of the goals was to save money by using bang for the buck components. I thought I'd share my choices and how I did it, there doesn't seem to be a single place to look that has all the information. I am waiting for the subs/box/amp for the low pass still, but even so, the rest of the components sound night and day better than that Sony system. From extensive research I put together the following for my 2018 F250.
